Sherwood Park Weddings — Acreages, Trails & Alberta Light

Acreages, greenbelt trails, intimate halls—weather included. Two photographers, light guidance, full coverage without pulling you around. Fully insured (COI on request). 3-year archive. Delivery: sneak peeks ~1 week; final gallery 5–8 weeks (seasonal). Alberta light, always our cue.

Fieldcraft — Hidden Corners When a Venue Lacks Natural Backdrops

If a venue lacks natural backdrops, we pre-scout: wind-sheltered trees, clean shade, trail bends with depth. Quick, low-traffic routes so you slip out and back with ease. For private vows, we keep it intimate and cinematic—one holds the scene, one waits for the breath, the touch, the look. Alberta does the rest.

The Safekeeping Protocol (our premium standard)

  • Design the day, then defend it.
We architect a schedule with buffers; protect VIP portrait time; and build an efficient, kind family list.

  • Two vantage points, one calm rhythm.
We split for prep, converge for moments, and work complementary angles so the story feels whole without turning your day into a set.

  • Lead quietly.
Clear cues when needed; discretion when not. Rooms feel like themselves; emotions stay honest.

  • Light with restraint.
Fast primes, bounce, and subtle off-camera support only when a room truly needs it—so colour stays true-to-scene, not bleached or trendy.

  • Proof & protection.
Venue-ready COI on request. Dual capture, mirrored backups, and a 3-year archive for peace of mind.

Colour & Finish — True to the Day

  • Trends come and go; your gallery shouldn’t. We avoid heavy filters and keep colour clean, contrast elegant, and skin natural-looking under the light that was really there. If a hall is warm and golden, it stays warm and golden—refined, not flat.

Your Inner Circle, Handled with Care

  • Portraits with parents, grandparents, siblings, and chosen family are not an afterthought. We reserve time, seat elders first, call groups in order, and keep it gracious and swift—so you return to your people without stress.

How Your Day Moves

  • Morning — Two rooms, two perspectives; small adjustments, real mood.

  • A private pause — First look or private vows on a scouted trail or garden corner—quiet, close, beautifully lit.

  • Ceremony — Discreet coverage that balances the big arc and the small, human moments.

  • Family & party — Names set in advance; grandparents first; clear cues, warm tone.

  • Reception — Speeches lit to flatter; dance floor covered candidly; a brief night portrait if conditions allow.

FAQs

Both—outdoors we work primarily with natural light; indoors or under mixed light we add subtle support so skin looks flattering and colour stays honest.

Short answer
Expect about 60–100 photographs per hour of coverage. On acreages and greenbelts we shoot with range, then curate tightly so what you receive is complete, intentional, and easy to relive.

Details
Typical ranges:

  • 3 hours: ~150–300 images

  • 6 hours: ~400–600 images

  • 10 hours: ~700–1,100 images

How we build the edit (acreage realities):

  • We favour sequences that tell the whole setting—open-air vows, family on the lawn, twilight under string lights—and trim near-duplicates so each frame earns its place.

  • If wind or mixed tent lighting shows up, we keep the frames where light and expression align best; you’ll see truthful colour and flattering tone.

  • Livelier receptions and larger parties often yield more images; intimate timelines yield fewer—always curated for clarity and grace.

Sneak peeks in ~1 week; full gallery in 5–8 weeks depending on the season; images are archived for 3 years.

Absolutely—tell us your ceremony time and reception end; we’ll map a smart plan with simple add-ons (weekday dates may qualify for a 10% Weekday Advantage).

Short answer
Yes. We plan for it and still create clean, elegant images. If you’d like fewer phones in the aisle, the industry standard is simple: clear signage + a brief announcement from the officiant at the start. We’re happy to coordinate both.

Details
Semi-Unplugged (most popular): Phones away for the processional, vows, first kiss; a guest photo moment right after the recessional so everyone gets a quick snap, then devices away again.

Signage

  • Welcome to our unplugged ceremony. Please be fully present with us—phones away until we’re married. Thank you!

Officiant announcement (neutral, works for pastor/priest/rabbi/imam/elder/civil officiant):

“Before we begin, the couple kindly asks that you put phones away and remain seated so everyone can enjoy the ceremony. There will be a moment for personal photos right after the recessional. Thank you for being fully present.”

How we handle it on the day:

  • With two photographers, one covers the main aisle and key angles while the other anticipates obstructions and works alternate vantage points.

Yes—COI available on request; we’ll send it to the owner or venue coordinator ahead of time.

Yes—we scout for clean light and uncluttered lines nearby, plan quick routes, and keep you away from the crowd just long enough to make the frames you’ll love.

  • Client words from real celebrations.
